The Center for Advanced Interdisciplinary Research on Religion and Science
Description
- The Center was officially established by the Senate
of the State University Al. I. Cuza Iasi, in june 2006 as a Center of
The Faculty of Orthodox Theology
- The Center was established to offer a platform for
professors and Ph. D. students from different faculties of the
University to engage in advanced research regarding religion and
science. They are encouraged to make use of all their competance and
skills for deep interdisciplinary research.
- The Center provides a structure for interdisciplinary
research with a theological perspective. As the Center is founded in
the Faculty of Orthodox Theology, a spiritual perspective is ensured.
The main outcome of the Center will be the Journal for Interdisciplinary Research on Religion and Science - JIRRS
The Center also plans to start a Master Programme in
Religion and Science from October 2007, making use of the
interdisciplinary experience and the work that the Center has
accumulated since its establishment.
