Considering that…

• during the Communist period, religion and science were seen as opposing fields of study;
• after the fall of Communism in 1990, scholars have gradually begun to see the link between religion and science and to realize that although the two were distinct, there is a certain compatibility between them;
• research done abroad has encouraged us to initiate dialogues between religion and science.

Understanding that…

• the dialogue and collaboration between religion and science is important and necessary in achieving a better understanding of fundamental questions related to the origin of Universe, to the sense of existence and to the future of the world;
• to promote dialogue and exchange, it is necessary to build concrete and advanced interdisciplinary research,

Realizing that…

• the setting up of an interdisciplinary journal on religion and science will be a way to record and communicate concrete interdisciplinary research,
• the plan to acquire high (humanities) standard for the journal will ensure the quality, durability and visibility of our research,

We see the setting up of the Journal for Interdisciplinary Research – Religion and Science as an great opportunity for us to develop our interest in and to contribute to the dialogue between religion and science.
